It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of two Normanville Surf Life Saving Club Foundation and Life Members, Rosemary Olsson and Graham Smith OAM.
Rosemary was a dedicated member who worked quietly behind the scenes, giving so much to our Club over many years. In recognition of her significant contribution, she was awarded Life Membership in 2008 – our Club’s highest honour. Rosemary’s name will always be part of the story of the NSLSC, and she will will be remembered with gratitude, respect and affection. Our heartfelt condolences are with her husband Graham and their family during this difficult time.
Graham Smith OAM was one of the original six Bronze Medallion surf lifesavers who helped establish the Normanville SLSC. Throughout his many years of volunteer service, he was an active surf lifesaver, Club Captain, competitor, trainer, Age Group Manager and mentor to generations of members. Graham was awarded Life Membership in 2008, along with the National Medal (with Bar) and National Patrol Service Award, and his guidance and encouragement helped countless members achieve their own surf lifesaving milestones. Our thoughts are with Cathy and the Smith family as we honour his remarkable legacy.
Both Rosemary and Graham gave so much to our Club and our community. Their dedication and service helped shape the Normanville Surf Life Saving Club into what it is today.
May they rest peacefully. Their place in our Surf Club family will not be forgotten.
