We are excited to announce that Normanville SLSC will be running a Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) course commencing from 1 November, and we encourage all eligible members to get involved.
The SRC is the perfect entry-level lifesaving qualification and an excellent opportunity to develop valuable skills, become actively involved in club activities, and make a real difference in our community. Whether you’re progressing from Nippers, a parent looking to become more involved, or simply keen to learn new skills and contribute to beach safety, this course is for you.
During the course, you’ll gain training in:
- Surf awareness and surf survival.
- Rescue techniques using rescue equipment.
- Radio communications.
- CPR and emergency response.
- Teamwork and patrol operations.
Successful participants will achieve the Surf Rescue Certificate, including training in CPR and nationally recognised units of competency. The SRC also provides a pathway to further qualifications such as the Bronze Medallion. If you are intending on completing your Bronze this year, you will need to have your SRC.

Course Details
Starts: 1 November and continues on Sundays through to 6 December 2026. (9am-2pm).
Location: Normanville Surf Life Saving Club.
Cost: Free for members.
Places available: 15.

To participate, members must:
- Be a current financial member of an SLS club.
- Be at least 13 years of age by the final assessment.
- Complete a 200m swim in 5 minutes or less before undertaking water activities.
Places are limited, so we encourage members to register their interest as soon as possible.
